CORRECT SCORE EXAMPLES

18th JUNE 2011

HEAD TO HEADS

04.04.2011D1Woodlands Wellington1-3Tampines Rovers
21.03.2011D1Woodlands Wellington0-1 ABDTampines Rovers
16.09.2010D1Woodlands Wellington2-4Tampines Rovers

30.05.2010CupTampines Rovers2-1 AETWoodlands Wellington
31.03.2010D1Woodlands Wellington0-4Tampines Rovers

Clean sweep in head to heads.

LEAGUE POSITION - top v bottom ( league of 12 sides) - game in hand for Tampines and with 2nd only 1 point behind, a win would be nice to remain top. Only 5 points all season for Woodlands - 12 losses, 1 win, 2 draws. +21 goals v -27 goals difference.

HOME TEAM - TAMPINES

5,4,1,1,5,1,3 goals scored at home. Either only one or a bucket load! Slight lack of consistency - e.g. 2nd bottom, only won 1-0 with an 80th minute goal. But against 4th, won 3-1 with ease and opponents scored in the 93rd minute so should really have been 3-0

RECENT HOME FORM - WWDWWDW - draws against 2nd and 7th. Both draws saw Tampines score first and concede in the 81st and 88th minutes. Frustrating.

RECENT FORM OVERALL WWWDWLW - loss 2-0 away to 8th but was 1-0 until Tampines got a man sent off and opponents get a penalty immediately afterwards.

GOAL TRENDS - average 2.86 at home and 0.86 conceded at home. Tough to formulate 2.5 goals as not on soccerstats.

STREAKS -11 at home undefeated.

AWAY TEAM - WOODLANDS WELLINGTON

RECENT AWAY FORM - LLLDLLLLW - win came away to 10th place Young Lions -1-1 at halftime - Young Lions get a man sent off. Woodlands even missed a penalty but got a late winner .

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LLLDLLLLWLL -

GOAL TRENDS - Woodlands have not scored in 8 of the last 9 away matches. Against top 5, Woodlands recent results? - 5-1 loss, 5-0 loss, 3-1 loss, 2-0 loss, 5-0 loss.

STREAKS - 6 away without a draw. Recent win against Young Lions has halted a rather poor away run. 13 of last 16 matches away - Woodlands have failed to score.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - it seems that any positive result Woodlands get will come by accident rather than design ( sending off , penalty that kind of thing). Expect 3,4,5 goals from league leaders?

17 JUNE 2011
8pm - Shamrock Rovers v Galway Utd - 1.09 home - again signals goals but you know about Irish football - very unreliable betting medium.

HEAD TO HEADS

29.04.2011PRGalway United0-1Shamrock Rovers
24.09.2010PRShamrock Rovers3-0Galway United
17.09.2010CupShamrock Rovers6-0Galway United
18.07.2010PRGalway United0-1Shamrock Rovers
07.05.2010PRShamrock Rovers2-0Galway United
26.03.2010PRGalway United0-1Shamrock Rovers

Always good to see a clean sweep in head to heads. The last 2 Shamrock home matches reflect today's odds.

LEAGUE POSITION - 1st v 10th ( of 10) +20 goals v -34 goals.

HOME TEAM - SHAMROCK ROVERS

RECENT HOME FORM - WWLWWWWD - loss against 3rd 0-1 and draw against 4th 1-1 suggest Shamrock can cope well outside the top 4. Against 7th, 8th, 9th, Shamrock have scored 3 in each match at home.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - WWWDWLDWWDWDWLWWD - only 2 losses have come against the same team. 4 of the 5 draws have come away to top 7 sides ( albeit in a league of only 10)

GOAL TRENDS - 38% over 2.5 goals at home but remember this is a league of only 10. 50% clean sheets at home. 4 of the 5 matches home and away against bottom 3 have been easily over 2.5 goals, BUT away at Galway the result was only 1-0. This looks like a distinct split with predominantly under 2.5 goals against all of top 6 home and away, and against bottom 4 , 5 of 7 matches have been over 2,5 goals.

STREAKS - 5 at home without defeat.

AWAY TEAM - GALWAY UNITED

RECENT AWAY FORM - LWDLLLLL - very poor run from Galway sees them bottom.Win was 1-0 away to Bohemians and draw was 1-1 against 9th ( of 10). Away to 4 of top 5 ( playing the 5th today in top team Shamrock) - the results are emphatic. Galway have lost 5-2, 2-0, 6-0, 3-0

RECENT OVERALL FORM - LLLLLLLLLL since 15th April.

GOAL TRENDS - 62% over 2.5 goals based more on concession rate than on Galway's scoring. Galway have failed to score in 50% of matches. 7 of the last 8 matches have been over 2.5 goals. Galway have failed to score in 8 of their last 10 matches.

STREAKS - 5 match losing streak away, 11 overall. No win in 13 overall, no draw in 11 overall.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - 1.09 looks justified if you can trust Irish football as a betting medium - remember the recent Drogheda loss when all of the form pointed to a win! And remember that this is a league of 10 teams .

1230pm - Singapore Armed Forces v Phnom Penh Crown - 1.18 home - Malaysia v Cambodia and no real research can be down re teams who have not met before. go with the the odds? Etoile beat Phnom Penh 2-1 ( Phnom scored a penalty only) and this could be a way in to likely result today. Young Lions from Singapore also beat Phnom Penh 0-2 back in 2009. Likelihood is the more competitive Singapore league should out.

6pm - Ham-Kam v Randaberg - 1.28 home - this is 5th v bottom ( 16th)
Norwegian 2nd tier so not an area of expertise for me. Ham-Kam have won their last 4 matches 1-0, 1-5, 1-0, 1-3 scoring a bucket load away from home.
Overall DLDDLLWWWW 4 scorelines have been 1-0 - 2 wins and 2 losses. A sudden switch in form with wins over 6th, 8th, 9th and 10th. A win takes Ham-Kam top albeit having played one more match.
LLWW at home so far this season ( only 10 matches overall played) Losses against 1st and 3rd and last 2 wins both 1-0 home wins.
Last win was a 1-0 after the opponents got a man sent off in the 44th minute.
Randaberg are bottom and obviously in their 10 matches have been poor.
LLLLDLWLDL - draws against 10th and 4th. 2-2 draw saw Randaberg 2-0 down.
Win was a 3-2 against 9th in the league. Randaberg were 2-0 down - their opponents got a man sent off . Randaberg scored their last 2 goals in the 86th and 92th minute so this is far from impressive.
In all of Randeberg's recent matches , including cup matches, they have conceded 2,7,2,4,1,2,4,2,5,4,2,4. 10 of the 12 matches over 2.5 goals and the 2 others had 2 goals in the matches.
Randaberg have only played 5 away matches this season losing the lot emphatically - 7-0, 4-0, 4-1, 4-1, 4-2 against 3rd, 8th, 11th, 13th, 12th and today they are playing 5th in the league. Expectation for another 4 goal defeat?

15 JUNE 2011

1230pm - Etoile v Tanjong Pagar - 1.15 - yesterday's game from Singapore went exactly as per the odds - a 5-1 win - expect the same today with the same odds? This is another Cup match and etoile won in the league in February by 3-0.
This is 5th v 11th .
1 win, 12 losses, 3 draws for Tanjong in the league and -33 goal difference plays 8 wins, 2 draws, 2 losses and +14 goal difference.
As it is a Cup match there is no real point dwelling on it, suffice to say we should hope for a replication of yesterday's scoreline with exactly the same odds for Home United which could bring into play the halftime/fulltime market?

Cup match - not much form but another sub 1.2 side wins without conceding.

15th JUNE 2011

430pm - HJK Helsinki v RoPS - 1.25 home - plenty of liquidity about in this match for the starved Footy traders.

HEAD TO HEADS

13.09.2009D1HJK Helsinki4-0RoPS Rovaniemi
31.05.2009D1RoPS Rovaniemi1-0HJK Helsinki
28.09.2008D1RoPS Rovaniemi2-0HJK Helsinki
29.06.2008D1HJK Helsinki3-2RoPS Rovaniemi
26.02.2008LCRoPS Rovaniemi0-0HJK Helsinki

No recent head to heads indicate that one of these teams was in a lower league and the suggestion, with the odds as they are, is that RoPS are returning to the top flight. Today's odds suggest a replication of the 4-0 when they last met in September 2009.

LEAGUE POSITION - 2nd v 8th after 9 matches, and again we are early in a season so form lines and trends will be weak.

HOME TEAM - HELSINKI

RECENT HOME FORM - WWWW in the league. Helsinki have been kept busy with friendlies and Liiga Cup matches and in the last 12 overall, have won 10, drawn 1 and lost 1. Wins against 7th, 9th, 1st and 3rd sees Helsinki in good order for facing 9th today. 4-1, 1-0, 1-0, 6-2 scorelines. The 2 1-0's saw 70th minute winners and hints at a relatively solid defence.

RECENT FORM OVERALL - LWWWWLWWW - no draws. Losses against 4th and 5th were both 2-0's and both away from home.

GOAL TRENDS HElsinki have kept a clean sheet in 6 of their last 7 matches. Average 3 scored and 0.75 conceded albeit in a very small sample of home matches.

STREAKS - some solid streaks in overall play ( not just league) -14 matches without a draw overall, 11 at home. 9 match home winning streak, 4 overall.

AWAY TEAM - RoPS

RECENT AWAY FORM - DLWL - draw against 5th 3-3 saw an 89th minute equaliser. 1-0 loss to 6th. 4-0 win over bottom side and 2-0 loss against 11th.

RECENT OVERALL FORM - WDLLWLLDD - only 2 wins against 9th and bottom side.REcent draws against 4th and 7th, 1-1 and 0-0. The 1-1 saw RoPS 1-0 down , their opponents get a man sent off and they get a penalty to make it 1-1 so very lucky and unmerited draw.

GOAL TRENDS -average 1.75 scored , 1.5 conceded away and again a sample of 4 matches.

STREAKS - 4 overall without a win, 3 away without a draw.

CONCLUSION/NOTES/STANDOUT STATS - the lack of a draw is the first thing that stands out and laying the draw is an obvious starting point. But if the draw is out of the equation, and I cannot see RoPS win, then we default to Helsinki? Beware the 1-0 RoPS scoreline against 6th in the league, but the way the points are panning out, the top 2 look a step up . So many recent clean sheets for Helsinki bodes well for a correct score to nil?

So close to a scoreline to nil, but traders take note that anyone backing the 5-0 could have traded out ( if the 5-0 market was available at Betfair). You could have traded out at 4-0.

14 JUNE 2011
1230pm - Home United v Woodlands Wellington - 1.15 home. Woodlands are the whipping boys in the Singapore Premier League. Singapore Cup and not a league match. How much will this change Woodlands' mentality? This is 2nd v bottom in the league and as you know I prefer cup matches featuring teams who are in different leagues.
6 wins in their last 7 puts Home United in a good place in the league. Losses have come against 1st, 3rd and 4th - obvious then that Home United find the top 4 a struggle but basically win against the rest.
February 2011 saw the last head to head - a home win 2-0 for Home United - not really in keeping with a 1.16 quote ( which suggests 3 or 4 goals to nil)
Only 1 loss in the last 12 at home was against 5th placed Etoile.
7 wins in last 8, 4 wins on the trot at home.3,2,2,2,5,4,3 scored at home in those wins. Consistent and matches head to heads where Home United have scored 3,2,2,2,2 in their last 5 matches.
Woodlands have lost 9 of their last 11 matches. Win was against 10th ( of 12).Have conceded 4,5,1,5 in their last 4 losses.
Lost 7 of last 9 away matches. Last match a win -85th minute winner against 10 man Young Lions and Woodlands also missed a penalty.
These 2 play each other in the league at the weekend so I guess it is important to put down a marker in this match?
The form from the league points to a tightish match and a 2 goals win for Home United with the possibility of Woodlands scoring at least 1. But this is the Cup so there may be team changes especially with Home United 2nd in the league and in with a serious chance of winning the league.
